Hey friends! I'm not sure about you but I'm finding new ways to fill my time such as taking my dog on fun walks, drinking lots of coffee and cutting my clothes to pieces.
Okay so really, I've had this jean jacket from Old Navy sitting around in my closet for months and I haven't worn it. It is oversized and for some reason, I thought I needed to size up so it was just really baggy on me and not cute. Naturally, I decided to take a pair of scissors to it and crop it.
You can do this with any jean jacket, it doesn't need to be oversized or a size too big, it can be a normal fitting jean jacket. I also didn't use any special type of scissors, just my regular everyday use scissors.
I started by noting how short I wanted the jacket to be by putting it on and using the buttons as I guide. I decided I wanted to leave 4 buttons. I knew I was going to need to start my cut under the 4th button.
I didn't focus too much of the straight edge because I wanted to give it a more worn in, ripped look. I only cut on layer at a time because it was easier to cut. I also wanted to make the back a tiny bit longer than the front.
Once I was finished cutting on side, I moved onto the other side and again, used the buttons as my started point. This helps make the jacket even on both sides.
Once the front was cut, I flipped the jacket over and cut the back, swooping downwards a tiny bit to make it longer.
Here is the finally product and I am OBSESSED. This jean jacket looks good with a simple dress or even a cute flowy floral dress but also with biker shorts and a tank.
