I've watched a lot of tv while quarantined, probably so much that I should be embarrassed. I quickly find myself running out of things to watch and I often rely on others to give me recommendations. I've put together a list of shows I've watched out of my own interest and everyone else's recommendations. I've given each show a rating and my honest review. I'll keep this post updated as I watch new shows. This post is a part of a series so be sure to check out my other posts about what to watch: Best Trash Tv Shows and Best Throw Back Shows/Movies to Binge. I hope this makes your time at home a little more enjoyable!
Netflix
YOU: 7/10- Okay, I'm sure you've all seen this by now but I had to mention it. If you're new to this show, basically, it's about this psycho named Joe (who I oddly feel bad for?) who sees a girl who catches his eye and quickly becomes obsessed with her. He kills people who either get in his way of being with her or ends up killing her. I just finished season 2 which I actually enjoyed more than season 1. Season 2 has the same story line but with some additional twists. I gave it a 7/10 because I find it a little predictable but still enjoyable to watch.
Waco: 9/10- Guys, honestly, this show was very hard for me to watch but I couldn't stop. It's a limited series and episodes are about 45min each. It's about the Branch Dividians (a reglious group/cult depending on your view) who live on a compound in Waco, Texas. This show is about the stand off with the FBI and ATF and how everything took place. The Netflix series was based off the events told by one of the Branch Dividians and the FBI negotiator. It is truly heartbreaking to watch no matter what your views on the Branch Dividians were. I honestly only started this show because I thought it was more about the Branch Dividians rather than the stand off. I'm not very good at reading show descriptions. I gave it a 9/10 because it was very powerful and emotional but an amazing show.
Love is Blind: 7/10- I know you've all seen this. Do I even need to give a recap? lol. A bunch of men and women go into these pods and talk through a wall and never get to see each other. Some of them fall in love and end up getting engaged through a wall!? Crazy. Once they get engaged, they are allowed to see each other for the first time. You get to see their journey after they leave the pods and plan their wedding in 4 weeks. Only two of the couples actually end up getting married and I think are still together. Who knows. I gave it a 7/10 because it's pretty cheesy but entertaining.
Too Hot to Handle: 6/10- This show is crazy. Like nuts. I can't believe I even watched it. It's about a bunch of hot singles who are in a tropical place and think they are just there for a vacation. This weird Alexa type thing than tells them after 12 hours, that there is a big money prize at the end of their time in that tropical place BUT that they aren't allowed to do anything sexual, include kiss. If they do, they loose a certain amount of money each time. People get mad at each other every time they lose money but there are two couples who leave together at the time and everyone leaves with money. Yay. Anyway, if you like trash TV, this ones worth a watch.
Tiger King: 5/10- I don't even know where to start and what to say. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever watched. If you want to see ultimate redneck-meth head-tiger owning shenanigans, then you should watch this show. Honestly, it's ridiculous. I don't even need to explain the 5/10 rating.
Dead to Me: 9/10- Watch this show!! I'm obsessed. In season one, two women quickly bond over the lose of both of their husbands. A lot of lies are quickly found out which leads to crazy things happening. I'm not going to give too much away because season 2 just came out and I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it. I highly recommend this show to everyone 9/10 for sure.
Working Moms: 6/10- This show is definitely not for everyone. I like it and find it entertaining for sure. The plot is pretty self explanatory; a bunch of working moms and their lives and that's basically it. It's not a reality show which I actually think makes it better. The more drama, the better for me. All of the moms have different personalities and life dynamics which makes it way more interesting. I gave it a 6/10 because it's a good show, but I can walk away and be okay.
Outer Banks: 5/10- Okay, I know everyone is going to fight me for this review BUT I didn't really enjoy this show. I'm not really sure what about it I didn't like but it was just stressful for me without the enjoyment. I liked the very last episode and honestly, I hope there isn't going to be a season two because I want to think of the show the way it ended and not stress out anymore about it. I'm sorry friends. If you haven't watched it, I would recommend you give it a try because basically everyone besides me loved this show.
Sweet Magnolia: 5/10-This show is cute but not my favorite. I actually didn't pay attention to a lot because I couldn't get into it. It's about three women who live in the south and their lives. I honestly think that they try a little too hard with the southern thing but who knows, I'm not front the south so it could be completely accurate. I would say you can watch this show after you watch some of the better shows lol.
Hulu
Grey's Anatomy: 10/10- This is the best show to ever be made. The end.
